Client overview

W. Tanner Forbes is an author who blogs about the writing life, from first drafts to the progress of his first novel.

Project objective

Give readers one home for Tanner’s writing (his blog, his books, and updates on his work in progress) in an experience that makes long posts comfortable to read on any screen.

Creative approach

A dark, literary identity built from his compass mark, deep reds, and classic serif type, with personality carried by his own voice: “Putting the WTF in W. Tanner Forbes.”

Navigation keeps five clear destinations: Home, About Tanner, the blog, Books, and Contact. Posts sit in a focused reading column, with a recent-posts sidebar so readers can keep going.

My role & deliverables

  • Visual direction and brand application
  • Site structure and navigation
  • Blog index and long-form post templates
  • Responsive layouts for desktop, tablet, and mobile
  • Build and launch
